Bluezzoon is an ever-evolving and changing dream–a dream of David Raska about engaging Millennial students at Haile/US Bank College of Business, Northern Kentucky University, in a learning process that unleashes their creativity and marketing ideas. A process that allows them to generate ideas about solving real marketing problems for real marketers and, in doing so, create ideas worth sharing–ideas about 911 (which has nothing to do with the Twin Towers). Instead, it is about a world with 9 billion people living on one planet and one problem. Today, there is about 7.2 billion people around the world. By 2050, there will be over 9 billion of them. All of these people, including me and all those I love, live on one planet, the Earth. And this planet is supposed to provide air, water, energy, and all the other natural resources we all need to stay alive (not mentioning enjoying doing so). Unfortunately, these resources are finite and we, people, are rapidly depleting them because we keep buying what firms sell to us and they sell us stuff that can’t be made without those resources. And that is the problem. But every problem has a solution! And this one can be solved by making marketing part of the solution rather than part of the problem. How? Social impact marketing–marketing that turns marketers into engines of social change and leads to profits that are actually sustainable. And those are ideas worth sharing!
